Midwinter A.S. LXI in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, A warm summer has come and gone. The leaves have turned, fallen, and been buried under heavy wet snow. The harvest has been stored and milled, and the days of shearing the sheep are over until spring. The nights have grown longer and longer, colder and colder. Soon, though, the days will begin to take back the sky, and the nights will wane before the onset of spring. And so this is a time to celebrate. Come and dress in your finest Amethyst-hued finery! Celebrate the longer days, the turning of another year, new friends, new games, and new stories that will be told in years to come. During the Day During the day, we will be doing all of the things you've come to love about Midwinter. Fencing, arts, sciences, and of course, socializing. There will be space for carousing, space for playing table games (thinking of you, Cribbage players!) and even a few places for practicing the bardic arts and showing off your talents. Overall, if you loved it at midwinters past, you'll love it at midwinter's present! We will also, as usual, be selecting a new Harp of Caer Galen. This is an accolade chosen by the populace of Caer Galen, not the nobility, and is considered by many to be the highest recognition possible in the Barony. Your voice counts! Vote for Harp! See the schedule for more details. During the Evening After the tournaments have concluded, we will have time for an afternoon Court, at their Majesties' pleasure. Thereafter, or there-during, we will begin our evening feast! This feast is brought to you by Massimiliano and his highly skilled kitchen team, with vegetarian options at every turn. See the feast page for likely menu. Musical Chairs Then finally, to round up the evening, starting at 8:00 on the button, we will be playing Musical Chairs.
